To the Rav, distinguished chassid* who fears Hashem,

Rav Menachem Zev[1], emissary of the Sages,

Greetings and blessings,

All is surely well concerning you. Last week I gave the printers the foreword[2] of the kovetz*[3]. Now, I was particularly surprised to learn that you have not yet sent them the text of the end of this kovetz.

In my opinion, it should have appeared by Rosh Chodesh* Elul, the month of moral accounting, when it is essential to perform mitzvos with meticulous care[4].

I have, in addition, sent you a brochure on community activities, which has just appeared. Please confirm to me that you have received it.

בטח הכל שלום אצלו... בשבוע העבר נתתי למדפיסים את ההקדמה להקובץ, ומה מאד נפלאתי להוודע, אשר עדיין לא קיבלו מכת"ר ההשלמות להקובץ. כי לפי דעתי הי' מן הראוי שיוציאוהו לאור לר"ח אלול הבע"ל הוא חודש החשבון והזהירות במצוות ודקדוקי מצוות.

... בפ"ע נשלחה לו החוברת שיצאה לאור ע"ד העסקנות הציבורית, ובטח יאשר קבלתה...
