To the great Rav, distinguished chassid who fears Hashem,

Rav Y. M. M.[1],

Greetings and blessings,

I have duly received your letters of the 8th and the 17th of Menachem Av. When I was, yesterday, at the tziyun* of my father-in-law, the Rebbe, I mentioned your name, for the satisfaction of all your needs and especially that you may know success in the mission entrusted to you. Undoubtedly, the Rebbe will invoke divine mercy for you. "Great are the tzaddikim*…"[2], whose decisions the Holy One, blessed be He, ratifies.

You will surely organize a chassidic farbrengen* during Shabbos Mevarchim*[3], in order to encourage and strengthen our brethren, the children of Yisrael, in the love of Hashem, of the Torah, and of one's fellow. My father-in-law, the Rebbe, signified to the emissaries of the Sages[4] and to the delegates that they must "harvest material goods and sow spirituality"[5]. One can sometimes verify concretely that an addition to the spirituality that is sown enables one to collect more funds.

You will find enclosed a letter addressed to Mr. Levi Yitzchak Lewin, of whom you speak to me in your letter.

I wish you to know success and charge you to greet "our Jews"[6] — that is, "those who are bound to the shul*, to the Torah, and to the mitzvos*," in the expression of my father-in-law, the Rebbe. Now, who can be excluded by such a definition? It is known what the Rambam* says at the end of ch. 2 of Hilchos Geirushin[7].

קבלתי את מכתביו מח' ומי"ז מנ"א. כשהייתי אתמול על ציון כ"ק מו"ח אדמו"ר הזכרתיו להמצטרך לו ולהצלחה בשליחותו בפרט, ובטח יעורר ר"ר עליו, וגדולים צדיקים כו' שהם גוזרים והקב"ה מקיים.

בטח יסדר התועדות בש"ק מברכים לעורר ולעודד את אחב"י ע"ד אהבת ה' אהבת התורה ואהבת ישראל, וכהוראת כ"ק מו"ח אדמו"ר לשד"רים ומשולחים אז מען זאל נעמען גשמיות און זייען רוחניות, הנה רואים לפעמים ג"כ במוחש שעל ידי ההוספה שמוסיפים בזריעת הרוחניות במילא ניתוסף ג"כ בקיבוץ הגשמיות.
