Greetings and blessings,

I am replying to your letter of the 17th of Menachem Av, in which you tell me that your father is asking his children to give him the means to travel to Eretz Yisrael*, but that your mother does not want to accompany him.

I will tell you, on this subject, an account that I have from my father-in-law, the Rebbe[1]. A chassid of the Tzemach Tzedek* wished to travel to Eretz Yisrael. His Rebbe said to him: "Reb Hillel[2] does not feel the need to travel to Eretz Yisrael. You, on the other hand, feel this need. Make therefore here itself Eretz Yisrael[3]."

One can deduce from this account the regard the Tzemach Tzedek had for Reb Hillel. I hope that you will have good news in this matter and that you will share it with me.

Yesterday, on the occasion of the yahrtzeit* of my father, I went to the tziyun* of my father-in-law, the Rebbe, and there I mentioned your name and that of the members of your family, for the satisfaction of your needs.

I think that you must have received the article in English about Africa[4], as well as the brochure on the communal activities. You will confirm it to me.
