Greetings and blessings,
I received in its time your letter of the 5th of Menachem Av, and I learned with satisfaction that your son is doing better. May Hashem grant that you convey good news to me often.
You are requesting a loan for your business. You doubtless know that my father-in-law, the Rebbe, founded a gemach*, managed by the office for the aid and integration of refugees[1]. It is difficult for me to depart from the procedure established in this matter[2], all the more so since it was set down by my father-in-law, the Rebbe.
As was the case previously, you must therefore address yourself to the great Rav, distinguished chassid who fears Hashem and devotes himself to communal needs, Rav B. Gorodetski. He will surely help you, according to the possibilities of this fund. On my side, I will also write to him in this sense.
The kuntres* of commentaries on Eichah[3] has been sent to you, by separate mailing. You will kindly confirm to me having received it.

בעתו קבלתי מכתבו מה' מנ"א ושמחתי על בשו"ט שהוטב לבנו... שי' כן יתן השי"ת שיוכל לבשר בשו"ט לעתים קרובות.
בענין מה ששואל גמ"ח בעסקו, הנה בטח ידוע זה לו מכבר שכ"ק מו"ח אדמו"ר זצוקללה"ה נבג"מ זי"ע קבע קופת גמ"ח על ידי הלשכה לעזרת פליטים וסידורם, וקשה עלי לשנות את הסדר בזה ובפרט בדברים שנקבעו ע"י כ"ק מו"ח אדמו"ר, וכמו שהי' הסדר אז, הנה גם עתה על כת"ר לפנות אל הרה"ג והרה"ח הוו"ח אי"א עוסק בצ"צ וכו' מוהר"ב שי' גאראדעצקי, ובטח יעשה בזה כפי יכולת קופת הגמ"ח עתה, ומצדי הנני כותב לו ג"כ בזה.
הנדפס קונטרס רשימות איכה נשלח לו בחבילה בפ"ע ובטח יאשר קבלתו.
