Greetings and blessings,

I received in its time your letter of Wednesday of Parshas Matos-Masei. Because of my many activities, my reply has been delayed until now. In general, when I receive a letter in which a request is formulated, I strive to comply with it to the fullest extent possible. Replies to letters, on the other hand, are delayed against my will, because of my schedule and the necessity of preparing the edition of the chassidic teachings of our Rebbe.

I ask you, therefore, in the future, to write to me as often as possible and to describe to me all your positive accomplishments, without taking account of the delay of my reply. Moreover, it is sometimes necessary for us to know the precise number of our institutions in Morocco and the approximate number of pupils attending each[2]. When you open a new institution or a significant change occurs in the number of pupils, you will kindly let me know as quickly as possible.

I thank you for your efforts to send books to my library[2]. You will surely continue to do so. It seems, in fact, that many books, of kabbalah* or of the revealed part of Torah (nigleh*), have been printed in recent years in North Africa. You will doubtless be able to obtain most of them, free of charge, for my library, or, at the very least, in exchange for books published by Kehot.

The kuntres* edited on the occasion of the 12th of Tammuz was sent to you in its time.

With my blessing for success in your sacred mission and in greeting all those who come to your aid,

N.B.: On the occasion of the festival of the liberation of the 12th of Tammuz, a letter and a kuntres were sent to Rav Toledano[3]. They have doubtless reached their addressee in their time.

You will kindly verify also whether there exists in your city a newspaper[2], daily, weekly, or monthly, which would accept to publish from time to time an article on chassidus* in general and on our action in particular.

בעתו קבלתי מכתבו מד' מטו"מ ומפני רוב הטרדות נתעכב המענה עד עתה...

ובכלל הנה כל המכתבים המתקבלים ובהם איזה ענין של בקשה וכיו"ב, הנני משתדל למלאות הבקשה כפי יכולתי, אבל המענה על המכתבים מתעכבים למרות רצוני מרוב העבודה והכנה לדפוס של דא"ח מנשיאנו כ"ק רבוה"ק זצוקללה"ה נבג"מ זי"ע וכו' ולזאת בקשתי גם על להבא לכתוב לעתים קרובות מכל הנעשה על ידו לטובה ולא להתחשב בה שמתאחרת המענה שלי, ועוד זאת שלפעמים צריכים כאן לדעת מספר המוסדות שיש לנו במאראקא בדיוק ועכ"פ לפי ערך מספר התלמידים והתלמידות בכל מוסד ומוסד, ולכן כשנפתח מוסד חדש או שמשתנה מספר התלמידים במדה ניכרת מטובו להודיע עד"ז בהקדם האפשרי.

ת"ח על השתדלותו בענין ספרים בשביל הספרי' שלי, ובטח ימשיך בהשתדלותו זו גם על להבא, שכפי הנשמע הנה בשנים האחרונות נדפסו הרבה ספרים באפריקה הצפונית, ספרי קבלה וספרי נגלה, ובטח יש להשיג רוב הגדול מהם בתור תשורה להספרי' שלי או עכ"פ בתור חילוף על ספרי הוצאת קה"ת.

עוד אעירו שמהנכון להתענין אם יש איזה מכתב עתון במחנו היוצא מיד יום ביומו או אחת לשבוע וחדש, שיתרצו להדפיס מזמן לזמן ע"ד חסידות בכלל ועל עבודתינו שם בפרט.
