To the great Rav, distinguished chassid who fears Hashem,

Rav Y.[1],

Greetings and blessings,

I received an invitation from the yeshivah to bring my contribution to the message which is going to be disseminated on the occasion of the fortieth anniversary of the yeshivah[2] in Manchester.

The invitation is written in English. Presumably, the report or the brochure that will be distributed on this occasion will likewise be in English. The letter that I enclose for you is, in consequence, written in this language. I leave it to your judgment to determine whether it should be transmitted only to the directorate of the yeshivah or whether it is also fitting to disseminate it elsewhere, in the appropriate manner.

I also enclose for you the text of the words I delivered before the talmidim* of our yeshivah, who have volunteered to devote their vacation to the effort to strengthen Torah and good chinuch* throughout the country[3].

We will therefore transform what occurred on the 7th of Av, when "they entered…"[4], and I conclude in extending to you my blessing that we may witness, very soon and in our days, the building of the Beis HaMikdash* by our righteous Mashiach*. This edifice will be built by the hands of Hashem.

The Rambam*, in his Hilchos Melachim, at the end of ch. 11, says[5]: "If he builds the Beis HaMikdash"[6]. You will also consult the Zohar*, vol. 1, p. 28a, vol. 2, p. 108a, vol. 3, p. 221a, and the well-known commentaries of Rashi* and the Tosafos[7].

באשר ההזמנה באנגלית, ומן הסתם הרעפארט או החוברת ג"כ תהי' באנגלית, כתבתי המכתב המוסג"פ באנגלית. ואל בינתו אשען, אם ימסור המכתב להנהלת הישיבה ואם גם לפרסמו באופן אחר המתאים.

מוסג"פ הר"ד שאמרתי לתלמידי ישיבתנו כו' שהתנדבו להקדיש ימי החופש שלהם בתעמולה להחזקת התורה והחינוך הכשר במרחבי המדינה.

ותמורת בז' באב נכנסו כו' אחתום בברכה לראות ב"ב ממש בבנין ביהמ"ק ע"י מ"צ בנין ביד"ש.
