Greetings and blessings,

I received in its time your letter of Lag BaOmer and those of the 5th and the 8th of Tammuz. I read your request for blessing at the tziyun* of my father-in-law, the Rebbe, that he invoke divine mercy for each and every one of those whom you mention, in order to obtain the satisfaction of all their needs. It is clear that the tzaddik* who departs this world is found there more than during his lifetime. He will therefore call forth blessing and success for you and for the members of your family, materially and spiritually.

You ask me whether you must reveal to your friends the death of their mother. In my opinion, you will explain to them progressively that Hashem has led her to a place where she no longer suffers from her illness, that this place is in the heavens, that she continues, from where she is, to be concerned with the well-being of the members of her family, that she asks Hashem that they succeed in their studies, that they adopt good conduct.

Even now, this mother has compassion on her children, wishes that they conduct themselves as conscious Jews. By doing so, they procure for her the greatest satisfaction, and she is then able to obtain that they know success. The only modification is therefore the impossibility of verifying all this with one's eyes of flesh.

Obviously, you will not employ the same terms with the older ones and with the younger ones. The message, on the other hand, based on what has just been said, can be, more or less, the same for all.

With my blessing that you may organize yourself in the manner that suits you best, materially and spiritually,

בעתו קבלתי מכ' מל"ג בעומר וכן מכתביו מה' וח' תמוז, וקראתי הפ"נ על ציון כ"ק מו"ח אדמו"ר זצוקללה"ה נבג"מ זי"ע לעורר ר"ר על כל אחד ואחת המוזכרים בהפ"נ להמצטרך להם, ובודאי צדיקא דאתפטר דאשתכח בהאי עלמא יתיר מבחיוהי, ימשיך ברכה והצלחה לו ולכל ב"ב שי' בגשמיות וברוחניות.

ב) במענה על שאלתו אם לגלות לילידיו שי' ע"ד פטירת אמם ז"ל, הנה לדעתי לאט לאט יסבירם שהאלקים הביאה עתה למקום כזה שאינו סובלת כל חולי ומחלה, אשר מקום כזה נמצא בשמים, ומשם יכולה ג"כ להשפיע על כל ילידי' ולבקש את השי"ת שיצליחו בלימודיהם והנהגתם, וגם עתה רחמי האם על הבנים והבנות ומתגעגעת שיתנהגו באופן המתאים לבני ובנות ישראל אשר עי"ז גורמים לה נחת רוח ביותר, ואז ביכולתה ג"כ לפעול שיהי' אצלם עניניהם בהצלחה, והשינוי הוא רק בזה שאין רואים בעיני בשר כו' וכו', מובן מעצמו שאין האותיות שבהם ישתמש בדברו עם הבכירים מתאימים לאלו שהם צעירים, אבל התוכן לפי ערך יכול להיות שוה לכולם עפ"י הנ"ל...
