B'ezras Hashem,

To the great Rav, distinguished chassid who fears Hashem,

of good sentiments, devotes himself to communal needs

with zeal, multiplies good accomplishments,

man of great elevation, descended from an illustrious lineage,

Greetings and blessings,

I duly received your letter written from Switzerland at the close of Shabbos Parshas Chukas. I also received that of 15 Sivan, drafted in Yerushalayim — may it be rebuilt and restored. I thank you very much for having given me a detailed description of everything concerning the constitution of a united religious front in Eretz Yisroel[3] and of the efforts you have deployed to bring it into being.

As I told you during our discussion, I sent a letter to Eretz Yisroel to give my opinion on participation in the elections[4]. I said that everyone, men and women, must "take part in them by voting for the most Orthodox lists and persuade others to do the same." As you asked me, I sent a telegram, stating my position, to Agudas Chassidei Chabad, which has surely made it public in the appropriate manner.

As you asked me in your letter, I will mention your name when I find myself at the tziyun* of my father-in-law, the Rebbe, so that you may obtain success and brochah*. May Hashem strengthen your state of health, may He bring you strength in your battle for Torah, that you may see brochah and success in everything that concerns you, your public activities and your personal occupations.

On the occasion of the festival of liberation, day of the deliverance of my father-in-law, the Rebbe, after he had been imprisoned by the Soviets in 5687[5], I have the pleasure of sending you the kuntres* published for 12-13 Tammuz, which has just appeared. I know the value that my father-in-law, the Rebbe, and his words have for you.

מכתבו מעש"ק פ' חקת (משווייצרי') הגיעני, ובינתיים קבלתי גם מכתבו מט"ו סיון מירושלים ת"ו. ותשואות חן חן לכת"ר על כתבו בפרוטרוט על דבר מצב הענינים בנוגע לחזית הדתית בארה"ק ת"ו ומאמציו להחיותה.

כפי שאמרתי לכת"ר במשך שיחתנו, כתבתי לאה"ק ת"ו את חוו"ד ע"ד ההשתתפות בבחירות, אשר מחוייבים כל אחד ואחת "להשתתף בבחירות ולהצביע בעד הרשימות החרדיות ביותר ולהשפיע בזה גם על זולתם", וכבקשתו הודעתי עד"ז לאגודת חב"ד גם במברק, ובטח כבר פירסמו את זה באופן המתאים.

כבקשתו במכתבו, הנה כשאהי' על ציון כ"ק מו"ח אדמו"ר זצוקללה"ה נבג"מ זי"ע אזכירו לברכה והצלחה, והשי"ת יחזק בריאותו ויוסיף חיל במלחמתה של תורה, ויראה ברכה והצלחה בעניניו, עניני הכלל והפרט.

בהזדמנות חג הגאולה, הוא יום גאולתו ופדות נפשו של כ"ק מו"ח אדמו"ר זצוקללה"ה נבג"מ זי"ע מידי הסאווי[ע]טים בשנת תרפ"ז, הנני בנועם לשלוח לו קונטרס יב-יג תמוז שזה עתה הו"ל, בידעי יחסו ורגשותיו לכ"ק מו"ח אדמו"ר ודברי קדשו.
