B'ezras Hashem,

To the students of the yeshivah* originally from South America,

whom Hashem will grant long life[1],

Greetings and blessings,

I am replying to your letter. I was pleased to learn that you correspond with various communities of South America and that your efforts have already been crowned with success. You will surely maintain the contacts that you have woven. You will strive to broaden your activities, to the full extent of what your studies permit you.

You will surely make use of every possibility so that the people whom you have been able to contact, in the various cities, may, in their turn, exercise their influence over those around them.

The desire to translate various publications of Merkaz L'Inyonei Chinuch* into the languages spoken in South America is good and judicious. It is desirable that this project be brought to fruition. The edition will first be produced in stencil form, when you have found an experienced translator. You will translate only some isolated chassidic discourses[2].

You will discuss all of this first with Merkaz L'Inyonei Chinuch, which has acquired experience in this matter.

Likewise, it would be good to consult Doctor Greenberg, who will tell you whether it is possible to have some of these discourses appear in a general or scholastic publication.

It would also be necessary to determine whether there are Torah classes in a shul*, especially on Shabbos*, or the possibility of organizing them, if one sends from here books — that is, a few copies and not one for each participant. It could be a Chumash*, a Kitzur Shulchan Aruch*[3], an Ein Yaakov*.

You will let me know in the future how your activities are developing. May Hashem bless you, as well as your accomplishments, and may you obtain everything you need, materially and spiritually.

במענה על מכתבכם, שמחתי להתבשר מבואכם בכתובים עם קהילות שונות

באמעריקא הדרומית, ואשר נראות כבר איזה תוצאות טובות מעבודתם, בטח תמשיכו לעמוד בקישור עם אלה, שהתחלתם כבר, ותתאמצו להרחיב את פעולותיכם במדה האפשרית לכם בהם אם לסדרי לימודיכם.

ובודאי השתדלו לנצל כל הזדמנות אשר המושפעים על ידיכם בערים השונות יהיו כטופח על מנת להטפיח בהשפעתם על סביבתם.

השאיפה לתרגם הוצאות שונות מהמל"ח בשפות המדוברות באמעריקא הדרומית טובה ונכונה, וכדאי שישתדלו בזה, ובתחילת הדבר באופן מימיוגראפי (סטענסיל) לאחר שימצאו מעתיק מומחה. ולהעתיק רק מאמרים בודדים וכיו"ב.

ובפרטיות תתדברו בזה עם ה"מרכז לעניני חינוך" הבקיאים בענינים אלו.

כן כדאי להתדבר עם הדר. גרינבערג אם יש אפשרות להדפיס שם באיזה מכ"ע כללי או השייך לביה"ס איזו מאמרים הנ"ל.

גם יש לברר אם יש שיעורי לימוד בביהכנ"ס וכיו"ב ובפרט בש"ק ואם אפשר לסדר כאלו אם ישלחו מכאן ספרים (כמובן רק עקז' אחדים, ולא בשביל כאו"א מהשומעים) כמו חומש, קצושו"ע, עין יעקב וכו'.

תודיעו גם להבא מהתפתחות פעולותיהם, ויהי נועם ה' עליכם ומעשי ידיכם, ותתברכו בכל הדרוש לכם בגשמיות וברוחניות.
