Greetings and blessings,

I received with pleasure your letter, which was not dated. It informed me that you have become engaged.

I would like to express to you my brochah that your engagement intervene at a good and fruitful moment, with much mazal* and good. When you set the date of the wedding, may it be celebrated with mazal tov, mazal tov. You will build a Jewish home, based upon Torah and mitzvos*, as they are taught by chassidus*.

Moreover, the dimness is intense at the present hour. Now, it is being passed off as light, and the light as darkness. In such a case, each one must study chassidus. Thus, the luminary of Torah will also cause its revealed part to shine. In this manner, it will penetrate every detail, material or spiritual.

When you see ..., kindly greet him on my behalf. You will also transmit to him what my father-in-law, the Rebbe, said, basing himself on the necessity of learning from every thing a lesson for the service of Hashem.

The lesson of Pesach Sheni* is the following. Nothing is ever definitively lost. Even if, when the other Jews offered the Korban Pesach, one was oneself impure or far away, even if one was personally responsible for such a situation, as a consequence of one's deliberate action, one must know that nothing is lost on that account. A festival is celebrated to underscore this. After one has purified oneself, one approaches the Beis HaMikdash*, enters it, and takes one's place in its courtyard.

והנני בזה להביע ברכתי, שיהי' קשורם בשעה טובה ומוצלחת למזל טוב ובסימן טוב, וכאשר יגבילו זמן הנשואין, יהי' זה למז"ט מז"ט ויבנו בית בישראל על יסודי התורה והמצוה וכפי שנתבארו בתורת החסידות, כי בפרט בזמן הזה של החשך כפול ומכופל אשר עושים חושך לאור ואור לחשך, מוכרח הדבר שיתעסק כל אחד ואחד בתורת החסידות ועל ידי המאור שבתורה יאיר אצלו גם בנגלה דתורה ועי"ז גם ביתר הפרטים בגשמיות וברוחניות.

כשיראה את... שי' נא למסור לו הפ"ש ממני, ולמסור לו ג"כ מה שאמר כ"ק מו"ח אדמו"ר זצוקללה"ה נבג"מ זי"ע, - והוא מיוסד על הידוע שמכל ענין וענין יש ללמוד מוסר השכל בעבודת השם ית', והלימוד מפסח שני הוא, אז עס איז קיינמאל ניט פארפאלען, ואפילו אם בשעה שכל ישראל הקריבו קרבן פסח, והאחד שיה' טמא או בדרך רחוקה - או - לכם, היינו שהי' זה מרצונו הטוב, בכל זאת איז דאס ניט פארפאלען, ועושים בשבילו מועד מיוחד, שלאחר שטיהר את עצמו יקרב לבית המקדש ויכנס לפנים מהאסקופה וכו'.
