To the great Rav, distinguished chassid who fears Hashem

and devotes himself to communal needs,

Rav Eliezer[1],

Greetings and blessings,

You have surely received my letter[2] concerning the elections and the united religious front[3]. I would like to obtain detailed news of what is happening on the spot, in general, and of what is happening with this religious front in particular.

The information that reaches us here is contradictory. Perhaps it would be good to delegate from here a special emissary, who could possibly influence, on the spot, those who have a say in this matter.

I have just learned that the deadline for submitting the lists was last Sunday. Here again, we have no means of verifying whether this information is accurate.

...בטח קבל מכתבי בנוגע להבחירות והחזית הדתית המאוחדה, ואקוה לידיעות מפורטות מהו המצב על אתר בכלל ומהנעשה בהחזית המאוחדה בפרט, כי השמועות כאן סותרות אחת לחברתה, ואולי הי' מהראוי להשתדל שיסע מכאן שליח מיוחד ואולי יוכל להשפיע שם על אלו שבהם תלוי הדבר, אבל זה עתה הגיעה ידיעה שהגשת הרשימות יום האחרון הוא יום א' העבר, וגם בזה אי אפשר לברר הדבר על בוריו.
