To the Rav, distinguished chassid who fears Hashem,

Rav Dovid[1],

Greetings and blessings,

I received your letter of 15 Sivan, with the request for a brochah it contained. With Hashem's help, I will read it when I find myself at the tziyun* of my father-in-law, the Rebbe.

I read in it with satisfaction that you have settled in the home of your father-in-law, the Rav and chassid[2]. May Hashem guide you on the proper path and allow you to establish yourself as is fitting, materially and spiritually. You will earn your livelihood and will also be able to set aside time to study abundantly the revealed part of Torah and chassidus*.

You had the great merit of illuminating the world by publishing the works of our masters, the Rabbeim* of Chabad. This merit will protect you and all the members of your family, that you receive life and peace, materially and spiritually, a life filled with all good, with the clarity of "the candle is a mitzvah and the Torah is light," of the luminary of Torah.

I hope that you will be able to announce good news to me in this matter and tell me that the members of your family are in good health.

With my brochah that you settle yourself as is fitting, materially and spiritually, in the very near future,

You no doubt remember what I wrote to you when you were still in Germany[3], to establish what was due to you concerning the publications. Indeed, I was told that you invested money and effort. I do not know whether your devotion was rewarded.

You will therefore set up all the accounts as is fitting, and you will describe to me exactly what occurred, without concealing the concrete results. Likewise, you have surely kept for yourself a few copies of the books you published, which will have another positive effect, that of having these books available in Eretz Yisroel.

היום קבלתי מכתבו מט"ו סיון עם הפ"נ המוסגר בו, ואקראהו אי"ה בהיותי על ציון כ"ק מו"ח אדמו"ר זצוקללה"ה נבג"מ זי"ע.

שמחתי לקרוא במכ' אשר נסתדר בדירת חותנו הרה"ח וכו' שי'. ויה"ר אשר השי"ת ינחנו בדרך הנכונה וימציא לו ההסתדרות המתאימה לפניו בגו"ר, וימצא פרנסתו באופן שיוכל לקבוע עתים לתורה בנגלה ודא"ח בשופי. וזכות הגדול שבא בחלקו להאיר את העולם כולו ע"י הדפסת ספרי נשיאינו נשיאי חב"ד, יעמוד לו ולכל ב"ב שי' לחיים ולשלום בגו"ר, חיים מלאים כל טוב ואור של נר מצוה ותורה אור ומאור שבתורה, ואקוה שיוכל לבשרני בשו"ט בזה וכן מבריאות הנכונה של כב"ב שי'.

בברכת הסתדרות המתאימה בגו"ר בקרוב ממש.

בטח זוכר מה שכתבתי אליו בעוד היותו באשכנז, שיסדר את החשבון, בכדי לברר מה שמגיע לו בקשר עם ענין ההדפסה, שכפי המסופר לי הנה השקיע בזה הן ממון והן טרחה וכו' וכו'. ובמילא מסופקני ג"כ אם לקח לו שכר טרחה, ובטח יסדר את כל החשבונות כדבעי למהוי, ויודיע המעשה כמו שהי' מבלי להעלים את ההוצאות שהיו בפועל, כן בטח לקח עמדו ע"ח הנ"ל ספרים ממה שהו"ל על ידו, אשר תהי' בזה תועלת נוספת, שעי"ז יהיו הספרים באה"ק ת"ו.
