To the distinguished chassid* who has yiras Shamayim*, Rav Elyakim Getzel[1],

Greetings and blessings,

I was satisfied to have news of you and of all the members of your family through the Rav, distinguished chassid* who has yiras Shamayim* and dedicates himself to communal needs, Rav Ben Tzion Shem Tov[2]. He also transmitted to me your request for a blessing, and I read it near the tziyun* of my father-in-law, the Rebbe, when I was there, on Lag BaOmer*.

You doubtless know that Rabbi Shimon bar Yochai called Lag BaOmer*, the date on which he left this world, the day of his joy. You also know that joy transcends all limits. To read a request for a blessing, on the day of the joy of Rabbi Shimon bar Yochai, near the tziyun* of our leader, the one who reveals the secrets of Torah in our era, who allows us, thanks to his teaching, to attach ourselves to the tree of life — that is, to the inner part of Torah and, through its intermediary, to the Living Hashem — is the means of breaking all the veils and all the obstacles, of bringing each one to obtain the satisfaction of all his needs: children, health, material prosperity.

I hope that you will be able to announce good news to me concerning all that you mentioned in your request for a blessing.

Enclosed you will find the sicha* of Lag BaOmer* that has recently been edited. You will study it and will deepen yourself in its text. Thus you will be able to obtain satisfaction on several questions that arise.

In the hope of receiving your good news, for yourself and for the members of your family, I conclude by wishing you a good festival of Shavuos* and to receive the Torah joyously and deeply,

ע"י הרה"ח הוו"ח אי"א עוסק בצרכי צבור באמונה כו' מוה"ר בן ציון שי' שם טוב שמחתי לקבל פ"ש ממנו ומכל ב"ב שי' וכן מסר לי את הפ"נ שלו, וקראתיו על הציון של כ"ק מו"ח אדמו"ר זצוקללה"ה נבג"מ זי"ע כשהייתי שם בל"ג בעומר העבר.

בטח יודע אשר יום ל"ג בעומר קרא אותו הרשב"י - שזהו יום הסתלקותו - יום שמחתו, וידוע ג"כ אשר שמחה פורץ גדר, וקריאת הפ"נ ביום שמחת רשב"י על ציון נשיאנו שהוא הוא המגלה רזי תורה בדורנו זה, וע"י תורתו מקושרים אנו כולנו באילנא דחייא היא פנימיות התורה, ועל ידה היא ההתקשרות והדבקות באלקים חיים, יכולה קריאה זו לפרוץ ההסתרים וההעלמות ולהמשיך לכאו"א המצטרך לו בבני חיי ומזונא רוויחא, ואקוה שיכול לבשרני בשורות טובות בנוגע להענינים אשר אודותם כתב בהפ"נ שלו.

מוסג"פ השיחה מל"ג בעומר שנדפסה לא כבר, וילמוד אותה ויתעמק בה ובה יוכל לרוות צמאון נפשו לכמה וכמה ענינים הדורשים פתרון.

המקוה להתבשר ממנו בשו"ט הן בנוגע לעצמו והן לב"ב שי' ואחתום בברכת חג שבועות שמח וקבלת התורה בשמחה ובפנימיות.
