Volume 4 · Letter 244

By the grace of Hashem,
16 Iyar 5711,
Brooklyn,

Greetings and blessings,

I received in its time your second letter, in which you ask me a blessing for yourself and for your wife.

Finding myself near the tziyun* of my father-in-law, the Rebbe, I mentioned your names, and, without doubt, he will solicit Divine mercy that you should have a refuah sheleima* and that you should derive, both of you, Yiddishe nachas* from your children.

It would be very good to institute the saying of Tehillim* in your shul*, including on weekdays. You will say at least a few of them. You will transmit to the members of the kehilla* the words my father-in-law, the Rebbe, pronounced. He explained, indeed, that the saying of Tehillim* preserves from many unfortunate situations, chas v'shalom*, and draws down all the good of which each one has need.

Enclosed you will find the sicha* given on Lag BaOmer* by my father-in-law, the Rebbe, which has just appeared. I hope you will find time to read at least a part of it before the members of your kehilla*. Without doubt, this will be profitable to you all.

With my blessing,
